NEWS RELEASE: Jay Burnham of Hamilton honored as the 1995 North Shore REALTOR of the Year

 

 

     Jay Burnham, Vice President and a sales associate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Beverly, Massachusetts, has been named the REALTORŪ of the Year by the North Shore Association of REALTORSŪ.  Burnham was honored during ceremonies conducted as part of the 71st Annual Convention of the Massachusetts association of REALTORSŪ at the Doubletree Islander Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island.

 

     The REALTORŪ  of the Year is selected each year from among nominees of the 1500 member North Shore Association of REALTORSŪ.  Judging for the award is based upon service to the local community, business accomplishments, and service to the REALTORŪ organization on the local, state and national levels.

 

     The Coldwell Banker REALTORŪ is a past president of the North Shore Association of REALTORSŪ and served on the Association’s Professional Standards Committee.  He is a past director and president of the Multiple Listing Service and has played a major role in changes made in recent years.

 

     On the state level, Burnham has served as a state director of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORSŪ and has participated in many political and educational forums.

 

     His belief in being a well-informed and educated professional is reflected in the designations he has earned.  In addition to the GRI (Graduate, REALTORŪ Institute) designation, Burnham has received the coveted CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), RECS (Real Estate Cyperspace Specialist) and SRES (Seniors Real Estate Special),

 

designations which are the highest professional designations awarded in the real estate brokerage and residential sales industry and are held by less than 1/10 of one percent of all REALTORSŪ worldwide.

 

     Burnham opened and managed the Beverly office the DeWolfe Company (now Coldwell Banker) in 1990 and a second office in Marblehead in 1993.  He is one of the North Shore’s leading sales producers and has helped more than 550 families achieve their real estate goals.  He is a past director of the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce and served on the Hamilton Planning Board for four years.  He has raised funds for the United Way and has organized food drives in Beverly and Marblehead.  He was awarded The DeWolfe Company’s Margaret C. Carlson Award by president and CEO Richard B. DeWolfe for “exhibiting determination, patience and professionalism combined with unselfish contributions to family, company, community and the real estate industry”.  He was further honored when he received the company’s Associate of the Year Award in 1995.

 

     Burnham has resided on the North Shore since 1975.  Before that he lived in Vermont and attended Vermont Technical College where he majored in Architectural Engineering.  He lives in Hamilton with his wife Linda, one of the managers of Coldwell Banker North Shore.  Specializing in the North Shore area has enabled him to assist his clients and customers with all their real estate needs and he remains current with the legal, financial and market conditions in the area.
